Valentine's Day for Kids: Simple Reading Comprehension with Video

Students must unscramble 10 words related to Valentine's Day. Then they must fill in the blanks with the vocabulary learned in the sentences below the scrambled words. Unscramble 10 Valentine's Day Words with Fill-in-the-Blanks (+ Video)

Students read a few short texts about the history of Valentine's Day. They learn who this day is named after, its roots in the Pagan and Christian history and how we celebrate it today.
A worksheet is included - students decide if statements are True / False, they match vocabulary with its meaning and fill in gaps in sentences with the words they've learned.

Emma spends Valentine's Day making mailboxes out of shoeboxes, handing out Valentine's Day cards, and even getting a surprise card from a secret admirer! Practice homophones and confusing words with this Valentine's Day worksheet. Students must write the correct homophone for each sentence. Fill in the correct form of either comparative or superlative of the adjective in the (). The whole task has Valentine's day theme, so it's a great practise of your Valentine's day vocabulary as well.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
