Read and Complete - Story Time with Adjectives

A writing exercise to set the imaginations of students free! Each student must randomly select an object, a theme and a character. Then, their task is simple. To write a short story involving each of the three cards (this results in some really funny and creative ideas!) This is an activity which has worked wonders with my students, both teens and adults, particularly ones that struggle to think creatively. I call it ´guided creativity´. Hope it proves useful! In this task, pupils will complete the sentences using the correct form of the adjectives in parentheses. They need to use either the comparative, superlative, or the structure "as as" depending on the exercise.

Give your students time to work through the vocabulary. Encourage pair work and help with difficult words. Students can use a dictionary to find the meaning of some of the difficult words in the tables and this can prepare them for the final task. Once the students have studied the tables, they should work in pairs and describe the photo.
