Communicative goal: Identifying some wild animals in English.



Enabling goal: Wild animals vocabulary (Hippo, gorilla, turtle, crocodile, snake, leopard, whale, camel, elephant, giraffe, polar bear, zebra), Wh-question with what, indefinite articles a/an.

A powerpoint presentation to learn the name of the pets you have and how to write these words through flashcards and games. There's also a basic Q/A task at the end.

Pets

This class focusses on the food vocabulary and the use of a/ some/ any. The first part of the class goes over lots of food vocabulary that the learners should be familiar with before the class. 



The next activity shows jumble letters and the learners have to unjumble these to make the ingredients for some recipes.



The learner is then asked for the ingredients needed in a cake- this is a speaking activity and the learners should be encouraged to say 'some eggs...'. 



The final activity tasks the learners with making their own recipes, for this they should use a/ an/ a lot of/ some.

Grammar- a/ some/ any

It is a fun game for young learners. The game is divided into two parts. The first one requires the students to identify the animal in the scrambled picture. The second one requires the students to recognize the sound of the animal. It can be used as an indirect warm up for Indefinite Articles. It is recommended that the teacher shows the students a short nice video about the animals included in the PowerPoint presentation to make it easier for them to identify the animals easily. 

Animal Guess

The ppt presentation aims at practising the indefinite article usage. It contains some basic rules and examples. The rules are in Russian, but you can rewrite them in English or in your students' mother tongue. You can also find some gap-filling exercises which can be useful for the practice stage.
