Small Talk B1-C2

In this powerpoint presentation, we close the topic on shopping at the supermarket. In this presentation, it covers simple conversations that are generally used in the supermarket. It also helps the student to build their vocabulary on shopping words. This can be used as a whole class activity, on on one or as a group lesson. This can also be adapted to Zoom for online learning.

A tongue and cheek PPT about the history of beer, beer making and modern beer drinking. Throughout the PPT there is one highlighted word on each slide for the students to define and understand.

Time:



I have used this presentation and when involving students and getting them engaged with the content available, I was unable to get through the entire presentation and ended up getting a  full second hour out of it.



Method:



Works best by letting students read the sentences, followed by you asking them to describe the orange words, use them in sentences or whatever brilliant activity you can think of. As they give you information, you then use this to elicit further information from them. 



For example, mileage points. 



-> ask them how often they fly, and whether they have accumulated points and if so, how many, or whether they have used their points before. 



Do NOT:



Just read out the bold black words, then the sentence and move on to the next word. 



You will bore them to death. 



The presentation works best as an interaction, conversation-based lesson.

Travel Language

This is what I use in my lessons for students whose mother tongue is Russian. This is good especially for adults. It is used for explaining how to ask for things and it would be good after showing this ppt to give a handouts to consolidate what's learnt.
