places in the city; sites one may visit in a city
Talking about places you can/would visit when on holiday. Describing the city where you live to someone else who may be interested in traveling there.
Improve conversational skills.
The lesson can easily be adapted to suit different levels by either removing/hiding some slides, or by eliciting more detailed answers, or even discussions based on the slides themselves.
For adults, you can talk about places they have visited while using the past perfect tense (I have been to, I have traveled to, I have seen, I have experienced). Additionally, you could remove the descriptions on the last set of slides and elicit the descriptions from the students themselves.
Younger students may be asked to create a marketing brochure about their city/city of their choice to potential travelers, which they would then present to the class.
For lower-level classes, simply edit the text on the second set of slides (what can you do at these places) to the name of the places, that way it could serve as a 'test' to see how many of them the students could remember.
