Simply roll the dice and move along the board, asking each other, "What's this?" or "What's that?" depending on the space. You can use simple answers such as "It's a ...," or for more advanced students, use the  patterns, "This is a ..." and "That is a ...".

Students often have difficulty forming questions. They leave out the helping verb or put the words in mixed up order. This is a chart to illustrate the correct formation of questions. It can be used as a sample to follow so that students can then create their own questions.

A fun little worksheet which improves the listening comprehension skills and expands students' vocabulary. It includes exercises such as filling in the missing words, matching words with their English dictionary definitions and answering short questions to the video. I usually let my students watch the video for the first time without the worksheet so that they focus entirely on the listening aspect of the exercise. I finish the lesson with a short conversation on well-known crime cases that are currently discussed in the media.

I have prepared two dices. With persons and sentence forms. You can make a very simple game, just take flashcards with current verbs you are teaching, form a board game and have fun! You can add action cards if you want (such as: clap your hands, say months backwards etc).

This activity is useful for students practicing the target sentence "Is this/that your pen? > Yes, it is. / No, it's not."



Make a picture card and put them in the plastic bag. 

Students will pick a card and ask the question "Is this your pen?" If the answer is "Yes, it is.", partner gives the card to the owner. If the answer is "No, it's not." the interviewer gets the card as points.
