First go over questions to make plans and both positive and negative responses.  ie "Let's go swimming" or "Why don't we see a movie?" "Sure, sounds good."  "Sorry, I can't." etc.  The students secretly put their battleships in their oceans, and get into pairs.  They attack by trying to make plans on the given days, and the partner responds based on whether they hit or missed the battleship.

This is a detailed reading comprehension worksheet to practice the different dialogues for when you are going or are at the doctor's office. It focuses on a number of common expressions and questions. It practices possible symptoms and questions. It includes 4 different dialogues all of which have custom comprehension questions to ensure the students understanding and engagement. After completion, this Worksheet could also be used to speaking drills or role-play activities amongst students. It is the ultimate lesson plan for practicing conversations for the doctor's office!

At the Doctor's Office Dialogue Practice, Common Expression and Vocabulary

This file contains one page that is a doctor's one-week appointment book, and one page that is a patient's one-week appointment book. Give patient pages to half the class and doctor pages to the other half. One patient and one doctor need to role play a phone call (or in-person visit for lower-level students) to schedule a doctor visit at a mutually convenient time. This was a fun activity! Practices asking questions & scheduling-related vocabulary.
