This is a lesson aimed at upper-intermediate students (CEFR B2). It will inform the students about famous British art and give them the opportunity to learn about describing art in detail, also learning methods for extending their language. It includes full teacher notes and an answer key, as well as suggested homework. I'd suggest that you use it for students who are interested in art and British culture, although it aims to teach students how to extend their own vocabulary and use more interesting language, as well as explain why they like things in detail. British Art Discussion and Vocabulary Lesson

My second TV Adjectives exercise. This one starts the same way as my exercises for SWOT analysis and the job-search worksheets but it also has a debate at the end with debating cards included. Good practice for students of business English or geeks that love TV shows. There is an answer key for the final mix and match exercise but everything is pretty subjective. Be prepared to field questions on vocab after each student reads their sections aloud in class.

TV Adjectives and Station Takeover Debate 2

A short exercise using adjectives commonly used to describe books. There is also a debate on which book to adapt for TV with the participants taking the parts of executives at an online TV channel. They have to choose two of the books according to their personality cards. There is also a short preposition/phrasal verb exercise with answers provided. Upper-intermediate levels.





Book Adjectives and Adaptation Debate

A list of positive and negative adjectives that describe couples or their relationships. There is also a case file of six couples (one of them is a trio) and the problems they are having. If you live in a country where gay relationships are punished or are not accepted, then it may not be a good idea to use it (unless you want to make a point). Sex is mentioned so I have an age limit of 16 but then again, it all depends on the local culture. Once the students have described the relationships using the adjectives, they can debate what the couples should do.

The final lesson in Module 1, Pocket Money, for the 9th Grade, is designed to introduce students to financial literacy within a family context through speaking and vocabulary enrichment. The lesson starts with a pre-speaking activity involving watching a video of a father and daughter discussing an allowance, which prompts a definition of pocket money and a subsequent class discussion on the amount they receive and their spending habits (e.g., on gifts, fast food, and clothes). The primary focus is on vocabulary development, requiring students to complete exercises by filling in the blanks with terms like budget, saving, spoiled, and over spending, and matching extensive sets of synonyms related to financial behavior, such as thrifty/frugal, buy/purchase, and squander/overspend, to ensure they can discuss money management and consumer habits effectively.

Give your students time to work through the vocabulary. Encourage pair work and help with difficult words. Students can use a dictionary to find the meaning of some of the difficult words in the tables and this can prepare them for the final task. Once the students have studied the tables, they should work in pairs and describe the photo.
