Two pages of exercises, with key on page 3. True or false, comprehension questions, make questions and gap fill. My thanks to Ravensburger Puzzles for letting me use the picture. I hope you will find it useful.

What are they doing?

A fabulous picture! They have to locate the numbers, then write the correct number next to the objects. There is a key for this. On page 2, they get to practise the present continuous tense.

The first picture is 'The Bathers' by Seurat. The students choose the correct alternative in the brackets. On page 2, a picture for them to describe, with prompts. Remind them to make inferences, using 'maybe' or modals. 

Describing a Picture

A great crazy picture, with lots of things going on which are just not right! The task is for the students to match up the sentence parts. Key included. Hopefully this will provide a bit of fun and make them laugh.

Look at the pictures and write a sentence using the present/past continuous/progressive form of the verb.

Using the comic as a visual aid, students must determine the proper sequence of the story below.  They must number the story fragments in chronological order, beginning with 1 and ending with 5.



Have the students practice their speaking skills by having them read the sentences out loud.

They compare two pictures. First, supply 'There is' or 'there are'  and say which picture is being described. Next, they put the verb into the present continuous and once again, decide which picture is being described.

Present progressive.

This is a very simple exercise on Present Continuous made for Beginners - kindergarteners or from the first years of Elementary School. The kids are supposed to complete, using the verbs in the Present Continuous. (They can also color the pictures)

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
