Sometimes,we observe that it is difficult for the young learners to improve their writing skills cause they usually do not have enough background knowledge about it and besides,as writing is one of the productive skills,they need to gain some input to be able express themselves in written words.This task is mainly for 2nd and 3rd grades who learn English as a second language and who need to practise their writing skills with some baby steps.

Designed to be used with The Grouchy Ladybug as a way to encourage students to think about their own behavior and what situations make them "grouchy".



Students can draw/color in their faces onto the ladybug, and either write a couple of sentences about what makes them grouchy, or copy a sentence you provide them (depending on their level of English)



I used this with 6 yr old ESL learners, with prompts they could copy from the board such as:
