MUST / MUSTN'T PPT

This is a game in the form of a presentation. You can choose the number of the image by drawing lots, or put the numbers in a hat and pull out one by one. The game can be displayed on the screen of the projector, the children take turns calling the number of the picture that they have drawn. Students repeat modal verbs in pairs: can't, shouldn't, and aren't allowed, and make sentences with them.

I have prepared and used this material for my young adult pre- intermediate students. There are examples for each modal verb.The difference between must and have to is mentioned slightly as well.

modal verbs addressed to intermediate students. i have used them in my first 30 minutes class before practice . It worked smoothly. in the slides you will show your ss sentences that contain different modals and it is up to them to tell you inductively the meaning. then you elicit the idea whether permission or probability,ect.

FINAL TASK OF THE UNIT: Students will work in groups of three or four. They would be Greenpeace Ambassadors. Each group would represent a country so they must choose an animal from that country that is in danger, to talk about it. They should describe the animal, why is it in danger and propose solutions with a PowerPoint presentation.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
